Septoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct the prone bones between the two nostrils (septum). This procedure can be carried out on people with septum deviations who experience respiratory problems due to twisted prone bones. Before undergoing surgery, it is better to identify how the procedure is carried out and side effects.
What Is Septoplasty?
The normal human nose has a septum or wall of a straight nasal cavity so that it divides the two nostrils equally large. But in the case septum deviation, the position of the nasal septum is twisted and is not right in the middle. As a result, one of the nostrils with septum deviation becomes narrower than the other nostrils.
In severe cases, people with septum deviations can experience nasal congestion, difficulty breathing through the nose, facial pain, and headaches. This condition can occur from birth or caused by a nasal injury. One of the recommended treatments to overcome septum deviation is septoplasty procedures.

Septiplasty Procedure
Prior to undergoing septoplasty procedures, doctors will ask about your medical history, ask about the symptoms you are experiencing and are there any drugs being taken. Doctors also perform physical examinations to see your nasal cavity using nasal endoscopy procedures.
If the results of the examination show you need septoplasty surgery, the doctor will explain the procedures, risks, side effects, and what I need to do before, during and after surgery.

The doctor will lift the layer of mucosa that covers the bones and bones of the vulnerable, then reshape and change the position of the base structure of your nose. After that, the doctor will return the mukosa coating in place and put the trunk or soft cushion to hold the nasal tissue in place and the operation is complete.
After septoplasty, patients are advised to avoid exercise and weightlifting during recovery. Heavy activity can increase heart rate and blood pressure so that it risks causing additional bleeding, pain and swelling. Avoid also throwing your mouth hard, or sneezing with your mouth open during the first week of recovery.
